Responsible for all operations across New Zealand, Stephen was appointed general manager of Penske New Zealand in April 2026 after joining Penske in late 2025.
Stephen is a seasoned operations and automotive industry leader with more than 30 years’ experience across dealership, parts, service, and national operations in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
In his role as general manager of New Zealand, Stephen is focused on supporting branch performance, strengthening customer relationships, and continuing to build capability across the network.
Widely recognised for delivering strong commercial outcomes, he has a proven track record of building high-performing teams and earning the trust of customers and stakeholders.
Leading over 100 staff, Stephen’s leadership approach is centred on lifting capability across the organisation, removing friction, and driving operational excellence through consistent, incremental improvement.
Deeply connected to day-to-day operations, he believes that commercial success is built on empowered people, clear expectations, and a culture where teams feel supported to deliver their best.
Prior to joining Penske, Stephen held senior leadership roles with Terra Cat and Miles Motor Group, where he led national networks, drove commercial and operational performance, strengthened customer and OEM relationships, and developed leadership capability across the organisation.
Stephen completed the SDIA Enterprise Executive Program at the Queensland University of Technology.
Theo Ferreira is the national sales manager for trucks at Penske New Zealand.
Joining Penske in 2025, Theo Ferreira is the national truck sales manager for New Zealand, overseeing sales of the Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus, and Dennis Eagle portfolios.
With almost two decades of heavy vehicle experience, his career has comprised various senior sales roles in South Africa, England, Australia, and New Zealand.
Combining technical expertise with strong leadership and coaching skills, Theo brings a highly strategic approach to sales and management underpinned by a career that began as a diesel mechanic.
Highly motivated and results-driven, Theo prides himself on exceeding expectations and has earned prestigious accolades, including back-to-back Daimler Truck Star Guild awards for New Zealand.
Prior to joining Penske, Theo held roles with CablePrice NZ, Prestige Commercial Vehicles, and Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles.
Gareth McCabe is the national off-highway manager at Penske New Zealand overseeing a range of industries including energy solutions, construction and industrial, and marine.
Responsible for the growth and development of Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ mtu brand in these segments, he drives new equipment sales, projects, and aftermarket support.
Gareth is passionate about collaborating with customers to match their goals with the best solution Penske can offer.
Firmly believing that the mtu product range has an outstanding heritage backed by decades of development and refinement, he is excited by the opportunity to connect Aotearoa New Zealand businesses with mtu.
With over two decades of experience in capital plant sales and projects, Gareth started his professional life as a draftsperson before moving to project and sales roles at Gough Power Systems, and was most recently general manager of WaterPro, a specialist chemical equipment sales organisation.
Gareth holds an undergraduate degree in engineering/technology and a postgraduate diploma in business.
Initially joining Penske New Zealand in mid-2024 as the business improvement manager, Andrew Hodgkinson is now the national aftersales support manager for New Zealand.
In this role, he leads technical support, repair and maintenance contracts, training, dealer support, and sales support teams.
Passionate about fostering collaboration across the business, Andrew’s strategic approach ensures customers’ needs come first.
With nearly two decades of experience in the automotive industry, Andrew has held leadership roles in service management, process improvement, and business operations. He is skilled in analysing complex processes, developing execution strategies, and leading high-impact initiatives that deliver lasting results.
Prior to joining Penske, he held roles with Scania New Zealand, CablePrice NZ, and TDX/TransDiesel.
Joanna Bailey is the HR business partner for Penske New Zealand.
In this strategic business partnership role, she supports managers across the three national branches with her highly-specialised skillset in recruitment and retention, organisational development, remuneration and benefits, health and wellbeing, training, and performance management.
Jo is passionate about employee engagement and coaching leaders to nurture their people capability, as well as plan and manage personal and professional development opportunities through talent identification.
Prior to joining Penske New Zealand, she was the HR manager for a large transport company, Hilton Haulage, where she led a team of seven and supported over 600 employees nationally.
A trained teacher, Jo taught in primary schools in New Zealand and England for four years before transitioning into the recruitment industry. As a senior HR specialist of almost 10 years, she also has vast experience in recruitment agency settings recruiting for businesses in the transport, engineering, legal, finance and architectural industries, and has successfully managed recruitment agencies.
Jo holds a Diploma of Teaching (Primary) and a Bachelor of Education and is an active member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.
Andrew Mackenzie is the branch manager for Penske New Zealand’s Auckland branch.
Drew is an extensively experienced aftersales manager with experience in both the heavy and light automotive industry.
A trade-certified automotive engineer and a qualified mechanic who spent many years as a certifying engineer for the NZ heavy vehicle brake coding, he possesses strong technical skills.
Prior to joining Penske, Drew held various roles with Keith Andrews Trucks, Fuso New Zealand, Isuzu NZ, and Holden NZ, including service operations manager, service and technical projects manager, national service and technical manager.
A qualified accounting professional, Darwin began his tenure with Penske New Zealand in 2019 as a corporate accountant and progressed to finance manager in mid-2023.
With over 14 years of extensive experience in management and financial accounting, he has honed his expertise across multinational organisations, including in transport, mining, oil and gas, the public sector, and audit services.
In his current role, Darwin leads a dedicated finance team in New Zealand, delivering precise and insightful financial and non-financial reports that drive strategic decision-making and empower the management team with high-quality data.
Darwin holds a Bachelor of Accounting and is CPA-, ACMA-, and CGMA-certified.
Patrick Arthur is the branch manager for Penske New Zealand’s Tauranga branch.
As Tauranga branch manager, Patrick Arthur oversees all branch operations.
With a strong background in the automotive and materials handling industries, Patrick brings business acumen, and a leadership style focused on coaching and mentoring teams to drive success.
Before joining Penske, he was the South Island operations manager at Keith Andrews Trucks, overseeing eight branches. He has also held roles as regional manager and branch manager with Hyster New Zealand and Volvo, where his leadership earned the branch ‘Customer Dealer of the Year’ (2020) and ‘Service Dealer of the Year’ (2021) awards.
A qualified diesel automotive technician, Patrick also holds a marketing diploma.
